Can you add WM5 smartphone devices (no touchscreen)?

I'm using a Motorola Q, and it's identifying as a Motorola E680i. I can't download Widsets through Pocket Explorer on the phone, because it does recognize *.jad files. I tried downloading it on a regular computer, and transferring it over ActiveSync, but of course I could only download the generic version, which doesn't map properly.

This would be so much easier if you could just make downloads for any phone available, so we don't have to go through this crazy process of auto-detecting the phone model.
