I am sorry for the long response time.
I checked the official BBC widget and for example front page uses this feed:
http://newsrss.bbc.co.uk/rss/newsonline_uk_edition/front_page/rss.xml
It actually contains only the first few sentences of the stories. You can see how if you open that link in a web browser.
The Mimo-application you were referring to probably will do a request for the URL in the <link> -element of the news item in question and the go through the BBC webpage to get more for the story.
That is not possible with the WidSets RSS widget. The RSS widget will use only the contents found in the RSS feed and deliver it in small pieces as it is read to save mobile bandwidth.
