Ah, okay, some more information. Apparently the error "Certificate Error. Contact application supplier." means that the .jar was unsigned and the E61i will not install unsigned apps, regardless of the application settings.

Now, if I try to download from the phone via get.widsets.com, depending on which browser I use it improperly detects the phone as either an 6630 or a E65 or an E90.

So I went to my profile and tried the whole reload/SMS thing. That *did* provide a URL and going to that URL did detect the phone as an E61 (not an "i", but close enough).

If I click on the download link, the phone says "Invalid Jar File"

While all of this auto-detection stuff really is lovely, is it possible for me to just go to a page where I can choose which phone I have (trust me, I do know the model #) and then download the app from there?
