Problems relating to updating WidSets

Antti  2006/06/30 15:25 UTC

Hi!

As most of you might have already noticed, we have today launched a completely new version of the WidSets service, though in doing this there have risen a few problems which need to be announced immediately. We do admit that we are in some level still really on a learning curve here and all the things relating to the update didn't really go as planned.

I'll try to provide some information here on how to get past those. Also if you have experienced something completely different relating to this update, please let us know by posting a reply here and we'll check it asap.

1) Trouble accessing the WidSets website

If your WidSets website view is somehow crooked or items in it shifted to wrong places, please try refreshing the page and clearing your browsers cache to get rid of this annoyance. Library will probably be broken.

For further instructions on how to do this, please look at my earlier post: http://www.widsets.com/forum/posts/list/145.page

I'm encouraging that all the users would do this because there have been several cases where something has broken due to usage of cached javasripts.

2) Widgets in your WidSet (earlier MySet) are dropped to just one level

To correct this, just simply move the widgets in the order you want them and in your WidSet Manager and press the Synchronize button on the right of the page.

3) Update fails

Just remove the old client from your mobile and after this reload the new one via the WidSets website through 'Settings' -> 'Reload'. You can also do this by accessing http://get.widsets.com/ on your mobile browser.

4) Widget options not available in the mobile

These options will become available if you simply reload your existing widgets on your mobile through 'Options' -> 'Widget' -> 'Reload widget'. I just checked that restarting the client is not enough at the moment, and this is only necessary for the widgets you have on your personal WidSet prior to the conversion I just finished (0100 hours Finnish local time).

5) Widgets are broken

Try the same as above: 'Options' -> 'Widget' -> 'Reload widget'.

6) WidSets client doesn't have any widgets even though they were working prior to update.

A broken widget can on some occasions fragment something in your user account. If you're experiencing the above, please let us know by posting here so we can look into it asap.

We are truly sorry about these annoynances and we hope that the new enhancements and features our team has built can help you overlook atleast some of these problems.

Cheers!
