Installation instructions
If you are uncertain of what to do during the installation of WidSets, we've put up a simple list of helpful steps to smoothen things out.
1. Register on the WidSets web site
Note: Please register on the web site using your regular desktop browsers (Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer and Apple Safari should do just fine).
Fill in the required information. Don't get upset if the word verification doesn't accept your first try, but try again. It's there so that we don't get spam from automated web bots and has to be a little difficult. :o)
Click in the registration page in order to get an SMS (text message) sent to your phone. It has details on how to install the actual client.
2. Install the WidSets client to your mobile
Open the SMS you received to your phone. On most cases the web addresses are clickable and they open the mobile browser straight to the download page. On some phones however, these links are not clickable, and you have to open the them through the message specific options menu.
If you're unable to get those links working, please try using the http://get.widsets.com/ site on your mobile browser. Just enter your username and password in the fields there to download the client.
On the download page your phone model is identified, and you can click on the link to start downloading the WidSets mobile client to your phone. After the installation is done, exit the phone browser.
3. Start the WidSets client
Click on the WidSets icon in the phone. It has been placed in a folder on your phone, normally not the one directly visible. As an example on a Motorola RAZR you'll find it in the "Games" folder, and on a Nokia N70 you'll find it in the "My own" folder.
4. Get connected and enjoy WidSets
I posted an example of the normal startup of the WidSets client, so in case you want to know all the details of what happens when you open the client, see the link below.
link: http://www.widsets.com/forum/posts/list/270.page
Note! The phone used and described in that link is not a general phone, so it might look a little different on yours. Should be fairly close though.
That's basically it. If running into any trouble during the installation process, please let us know by posting details on the forum so we can try to work things out together.
We really hope you enjoy our service!

I thought that the whole shebang might be easier to understand via images, so here goes. I've actually captured these images on my Nokia 3250 that uses the S60 3rd edition platform, so they might look a bit different depending on your mobile.
1. After you receive the SMS message, press Show.
2. The basic view after opening the message.
3. Select the first URL on the message.
4. Click on the Java version for download.
5. Answer yes to the Download and install 'WidSets'? query.
6. Just your basic Security warning message (familiar atleast for Windows users), just answer Continue here
7. Here you can see the application details, go forward by clicking Continue
8. This message appears if you have WidSets running, while trying to install it, just click OK.
9. This message appears if you have a prior installation on your mobile, just click OK.
10. Select the memory where you want to store the application from the list and press Select.
11. Answering Yes to the 'Save existing application data?' query here means that your old Widget data is kept throughout the installation. Of course you can also start from clean table and answer No.
12. Download progress bar.
13. Download progress bar #2.
14. After a successful installation, you can just go back to your normal menu view and open the application from the appropriate destination.
15. In my phone the application goes under My own in the Symbian menu, this might of course be something else if you're using some other model / language settings.

Re:Installation instructions
I have a Nokia 6300, but your site recognize my phone to Nokia 6310i, and download wrong java version WidSets.
Where can I directly download the WidSets for Nokia 6300 (or 6233).
thx.
Re:Installation instructions
Hi,
Since it's a very similar phone, it's unlikely to cause a problem with having your phone misidentified.
In short, if it works, then there's no problem. I'll have a look at the system soonish, but please report back if you're having trouble running our program.
Cheers,
Daniel.
Re:Installation instructions
Hi all,
to jofreddy:
Please try downloading the application via http://get.widsets.com/ entering your login credentials to the fields there. If you're able to access the website, then installation should also work without problems. The application has been tested to work with the Motorola V3x before, so there atleast shouldn't be any device specific issues.
to karasz:
Please let us know what the problem actually is? From what I could gather, you're wondering why the download site is giving you a Java application instead of a Symbian app. Answer to that would be that WidSets is actually a Java application. Our device detection is mainly used for keymapping related details at this point and those are the same on the Nokia 6300 and the Nokia 6310i.
Cheers,
Antti
Re:Installation instructions
My problem is:
- I have a Nokia 6300
- I use my web/wap browser on my phone
- web options: Go to address: get.widsets.com
- I click "WidSets by downloading the client" link
- after: Download WidSets for Nokia 6310i - "Download"
I click "Download"
- you say: Application is not from a trusted supplier. Continue anyway?
i say: Yes
Name: WidSets
Size: 145kB
Version: 0.97
Vendor: WidSets
Cerificate: No
- downloading....
- Message: "Invalid application"
so this is my problem

Re:Installation instructions
Hi again karasz.
The only thing that comes to mind is that the phone software is somehow buggy. If you have the option of taking your phone to a software upgrade, that might be worth your while, but then again I can't guarantee that it will help either.
Could also be that it's not letting you install the application, because our application is not signed. To help that issue, we're working on signing the application. There will be announcements on that later.
Thanks for the feedback though.
Cheers,
Antti
