Hi WidSeteers,

after updating the WidSets service some you may have ended up with a non-working WidSets client.

To make WidSets to work again, uninstall the WidSets first. If the phone does not allow you to do it, try to reboot the phone and uninstall via Application Manager. That should work.

Then reload the new version via http://widsets.mobi: login with your username to get your personalised client. Or you can also reload through this website: Login with your user name > My Profile page > Settings > you can find the Reload button from here. You will recieve an SMS with a download link to your customised WidSets cleint.

One way to avoid this non-working WidSets client to happen is not to accect the prompt for an update. Just remove the old version and reload the new one as instructed above. Updates to Java applications would also go more smoothly, if the apps are installed to phones memory.

We're sorry about this problem that some of you are facing.

widsets.mobi site is down. can we use get.widsets.com or not?

The both wap pages are currently in use, you can use which url you like, though the mobi site is more informative and has more functionalities. At some point the get.widsets.com will be closed down or at least advertised less.

There pages are used for mobile browsing and downloading WidSets again. The mobi site has also Help section and a preliminary library of stand-alone widgets for certain S60 devices.

Why did I ever say yes to upgrade my widsets :-(
Now it doesn't work, and I'm going on 3 weeks vacation and can't check news and mail... :-(
I have tried to uninstall and reinstall several times, but the system still stops on a white Widsets screen.
I have Opera Mini running as a Java-application, and it works fine.
Is there any way that I can get version 2 again?

I've only recently come across this application and it seems really fascinating on the face of it. However, really struggled to get it to work more than once after downloading onto my KU 990. Looks really good the first time you start it then, if I've closed the application or turned the phone off, then restarted I'm stuck weith the opening screen (blue background with stars?) and get no further. Did notice that, after it had worked, file occupied about 640k of memory but as soon as it had stopped working the file size had dropped to about 240k. Would really lilke to be able to continue using this application but several attempts have resulted in the same problem. Any advice ?

You could try to remove some widgets from the dashbaord and reinstall WidSets with less content in it. Before reinstalling, remove the current one first.

Let's see if it helps you.
