Support for Sony Ericsson w880

Could you guys please add support for this device. I'm getting detected as a w810 which is resulting in an invalid app download. :o(

Hi,

Still getting invalid app message.

It does recognise phone however. Prompts to download the w880 version.

Strange, the k800 version should also work fine in case thats any help to you. Also, other downloads and app are all fully functional.

Hi smccafferty,

how did you tried to get the WidSets client? And which is your operator in use?

The client is the same no matter which Sony Ericsson device you have in use. Please, reply with the needed details and hopefully we can help to solve the problem.

I couldn't sign up for a txt message to be sent because I have reached my limit on this site trying to get this going.

So I went to get.widsets.com, my phone was recognised correctly as a w880 and I downloaded the client. The download completed and upon installation I get invalid application error message. I have many other apps installed fine and download apps also just fine. I'm actually involved in the design of apps and material as a day job.

Its worth noting that this is the message I would get if I was installing an app not for a w880. Like a k750 app for example. They are all sony ericssons but they have different screen resolutions among other things :o)

Looking forward to getting this working. It looks great and I must compliment you on a great site. The builder is excellent.

Hi again,

in a mean while we try to think what is wrong here, please try to install this version of WidSets:

1) Remove the application from your mobile (if installed ealier)

2) Download the application again from here with your mobile browser: http://www.widsets.com/widsets.jad

Does this give the same error?

Hi Tana,

No luck again with that jad file method. Buuut, I just took the address from the jad and downloaded the jar via my mac and bluetoothed it to my phone.

All is well now.
