Some thoughts about the offline mode

I really love the offline features and I use them daily in the subway to read RSS feeds.

But still, from my point of view, a few things for th offline capability could be improved:

1) The annoying Offline reminder box
Please, please remove the annoying every 10 sec or every click dialog box, telling me that I'm offline. I know that. I'm in the subway with no coverage. I intentionally selected the menu that says client "go offline".
Or, if you really need that dialog box, at least make it configurable. It so annoying!
(BTW, the 10 sec appearance of the box without clicking anything happened since I added some new widgets. I don't know which one is the reason)

2) The (loading...) feature
While the feature of loading content in chunks is great for 2G users, me as a 3G user would like to download the whole text when synchronizing. Sometime in the subway I really would like to read the rest of the story - but I'm in offline mode.
So could you make that a configurable feature, so everybody could select what he/she wants, shorter synch or full offline capability.

3) Offline Bookmarking
Reading in offline mode I regularly find interesting articles which I of coursewould like to bookmark. But again, I'm in offline mode, so bookmarking doesn't seem to work.
Would it be possible to queue the bookmarking requests in the client until I'm online again? That would be really helpful.

If one or another of the above is implemented right now and I just haven't detected it, please let me know.

All in all Widsets is a great piece of software, I do not want to miss it any more.

Hi Bewina,

thanks for your valuable feedback! We have received similar kind of feedback ealier too, and we are quite much aware of the issue, that these features are quite often requested by our users.
We are doing our best to investigate the ideas and possible impelemtation, but cannot say yet if one day those features will be available or not.

About the first issue, I am afraid that the offline pop-up should not appear so often. Are you sure you are not having two client open at the same time? Are you a developer as well? What were the widgets that were added, when this started?
