Bookmarks/links

I really like the Bookmark idea, but it is a hassel to open up the browser, navigate to widsets.com and then read the bookmarks. It kind of defeats the object of boomarks for me - its too complicated.

Howabout having a bookmark section in your profile on the widsets app on the phone? That way you can just go there and look up the bookmarks you saved. If you have deliberately put the bookmarks on the internet site and not on the application (to get more internet traffic?) maybe a simple link in the profile section on the widsets app would open the phones browser and straight to your widsets account? (Where you could access the bookmarks).

Another way around this would be that when you press bookmark - the bookmark will be placed in a 'widset' folder in bookmarks of the phones browser.

Alternatively - you could have actual links from each of the news pages, allowing you to open up the full story in the browser.

If you could implement one of these things I think widsets would be much improved. Sometimes it frustrating getting a BBC story on widsets - 2 sentences long and you cant quickly open it.

Thanks guys:)

ps another suggestion - to save on battery you could give an option so that widsets connects to the internet (either via 3g or Wifi) at intervals - thus allowing you to run it all the time in the background. This isnt 100% needed as widsets updates quickly anyway.

I suspect you are trying to keep widests as simple and 'clean' as possible, because I love its simplicity and ease of use.:)

Hi there,

thanks for your feedback! I think this idea has been proposed ealier, too. I believe that the biggest problem here is that all phones may not handle simultaneous tasks (WidSets and browser open) and may cause phone to hang or freeze.

A workaround for this feature currently is at least in N-Series phones to use the phone browser's "Wed feeds". You can find this in the mobile browser. Just create a new web feed for WidSets and copy-paste your personal WidSets bookmark feed from My Profile - Bookmarks at www.widsets.com. This gives you an easy access to your WidSets bookmarks via mobile.

Idea about update intervals has been proposed as well, and we'll see what happens to that in the future.

Cheers, Taina
