New Widsets :(

I don't like the new Widsets. Its annoyingly slow, both the website and the mobile client. Since I updated, I lost many of my widgets, and it also messed up the order of my widgets. It takes forever to load (Almost 5 mins, as compared to 62 seconds for the old client), takes just as long to update (as compared to 20 seconds on my old widsets), and god knows what not. It also seems to reload my widgets every time it connects, so that makes it take even longer.

I wish I had the old version back :(

Hi toadpole,

due to the migration, everyone's dashboard was mixed a little bit. That was something that we couldn't avoid of happening. Luckily it can be re-arranged on the website.

We are still having breaks in the service, and that makes all functions slow and unstabe, but let's hope that we get all sorted soon.

We keep on discussing with some publishers to get some good content back to the library, but so far we were not able to keep some widgets in there.

Hi,

I want to add my experience about moving from beta to real version:

1) I never had any "automatic" update of WidSet client on my device (N91). The old beta client was just trying to connect all the time (connecting -> offline -> connecting -> offline etc.) Eventually I managed to find how to upgrade the client application. The path wasn't so clear at all. I had to use search function on the web site to find instructions from the forum how to upgrade it.

2) With the new client I immediately noticed that the vertical space in dashboard is lower than before, so now I can stack only 2 of the widgets when in beta I was able to have most 3 on the same column. This makes the dashboard wide and more clumsy to use.

3) I also noticed that few of my favorite widgets were not migrated and I cannot find the same content from published widgets any longer (I might rather then use web feeds and browser).

4) The left selection key doesn't jump automatically to the updated widget any longer as the menus have changed. That was one of the key things in the previous beta to move fast where there is new content. Now I guess I just has to browse through the wider (see point 2) dashboard and find new content myself.

5) Detection of new content in several widgets seems strange. Old content is periodically displayed as new. I had to remove couple of widgets because this was getting too annoying.

Well, the appearance, web site and functionality in general might all have improved, but the above ones were the issues working ok in beta and those made me addicted to WidSets in the first place. Now I'm not so sure any more. At least I don't as much use for it as I did with earlier beta version.

To add to some of these issues mentioned above:

1. The counter in the lower right corner that showed how many widgets had new content / how many widgets have been updated so far is gone.

2. The status bar while the app is loading is gone too.

3. The new Widsets constantly keeps connecting even after all the updating is done.

4. There are about twenty widgets that won't get arranged into stacks. They show as only one widget to a column, so I have to scroll twenty times instead of just three or four.

I don't get why the first two things were removed in the first place :(

Hi,

1. You can still move to next widget with new content by clicking *-key on dashboard.

2. What statusbar? There is a loading progress-bar at the bottom, it's orange when doing the starting up loading and loading a new widget, and green/white when doing updating.

3. You might have widget that keep polling for new information, or then it is the Library carousel, it should stop loading new widgets when it has loaded once every minimized icon on the round.

I still can't get the newer version to work with my 6670.. And it's not a memory issue!
