Widsets on WM5 device? i-mate k-jam
Widsets on WM5 device? i-mate k-jam
Hello,
I tried widsets on my i-mate k-jam, but the device doesn't get recognized well; The page suggests to download "Widsets for Motorola MPX220", but when I install it I cannot use the app.
It connects without problems, but I cannot use any button.
What can I do?
Thanks a lot
Andrea
Re:Widsets on WM5 device? i-mate k-jam
Hi,
Most likely your handset isn't getting recognized and therefore the keys are not being mapped properly - functionally if it gets online it's already working which is great, but without the key mappings you'll not be able to do much. Unfortunately you'll need to download the client again once we get it set up properly.
I'll fix the detection, which should also fix the keymappings. Can you run the key-tester mentioned elsewhere in the forums and on the site, and post the output anyway? This will save you a third download if the keys for that device aren't already mapped as we can map them based on your results immediately.
When your device is ready, we'll let you know - it doesn't take long.
Cheers,
Daniel.
Re:Widsets on WM5 device? i-mate k-jam
Hi,
Your device is now added to our system. I've mapped the keys based on a similar device (from HTC) so they *might* work. If you post me your actual values here first, I can change them if necessary, otherwise feel free to try to re-download the client again (if you're using WiFi it'll be quicker and cheaper:)
Good luck,
Daniel.
Re:Widsets on WM5 device? i-mate k-jam
I have a Tmobile Vario, the widsets tels me the same as the Imate k jam, download mpx220.
Do u know when the windows 2005 version works, because it will be great if i can use the touchscreen to handle.
Re:Widsets on WM5 device? i-mate k-jam
Hi none.
Touchscreen support will be introduced when the next version of WidSets comes out, so stay tuned. I've asked Daniel to have a look at the faulty device detection on this side. Thanks for the feedback!
Cheers,
Antti
Re:Widsets on WM5 device? i-mate k-jam
Hi,
Since this is based on the same platform as the iMate (HTC Wizard) then it may be that the keymappings for the iMate will also work with your phone.
I can add your device soon, and I will add the same key mappings as for the iMate, but there is no guarantee they will work.
If they don't, you'll need to run our keytester and report the results to us here so that I can change the mappings for that model.
When done, you'll have to download again (sorry) but after that, it will work.
I'll notify here when the addition is done.
Cheers,
Daniel.
Re:Widsets on WM5 device? i-mate k-jam
Hi none,
I checked your login, and your phone reports itself as an iMate KJAM directly (albeit with a different useragent than a 'real' iMate KJAM) so I have marked it as such in our database - please try to download the application again.
If it doesn't work, then you'll need to run the keytester, and I'll have to do the odd thing of naming a device as something other than what it itself says it is...
Cheers,
Daniel.
Re:Widsets on WM5 device? i-mate k-jam
What about an HTC Hermes / Cingular 8525? This WM5 device isn't detected. When trying to download and execute from get.widsets.com, I see the following error in the MIDlet manager:
Invaliad Java application descriptor (jad)
Edit: Nevermind, it works after upgrading My Java Midelt Manager from v10.1.7.561 to 11.1.7.1023
Re:Widsets on WM5 device? i-mate k-jam
Hi stevencwid.
Nice to hear that you got it working on your own. I'll have to keep that fix in mind later on if similar problems are reported. So thanks for letting us know what the fix was.
Cheers,
Antti
Re:Widsets on WM5 device? i-mate k-jam
Hi,
If your system was not detected properly, then the keys may also be wrong. If it's based on the HTC Hermes, then it may be yet another system with keys similar to the Wizard (infact, if it got identified as the apache, or the kjam then it already has those keys defined...).
Let us know how it works now you've fixed the problem with your phone.
Cheers,
Daniel.
