Hi davpel,
and sorry for not returning to you ealier.
Our guys tried to trace you but they are having some hard times. To help them, could you please tell me when you have tried to use Widsets with Pantech and what was the used user name - was it davpel or something else?
Thanks for the information!
Taina

Hi Taina. Thanks for the reply. I tried to use Widsets a few times during the week prior to my post here. My user name is in fact "davpel". Please let me know if you need any further information in order to troubleshoot this issue.

Re:Problem with Pantech PN-820
Hi,
Can I ask you when exactly you downloaded the client for that phone? I'm trying to find it from our logs, but it's not exactly easy.
If you had to use a browser on a PC to download it, and a cable to transfer it we also need to know. I need to hunt for the user agent string...
I found two from you - one was identical to a normal PC browser and another was [Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; Smartphone; 176x220)] which has been identified as something else than a Pantech...
Will let you know to try again when we have it.
Cheers,
Daniel

Hi Daniel:
It is really hard to say, since it has been a few weeks. I am pretty certain that I downloaded it twice: once from the Pantech and once on my PC and then transferred over to the device via ActiveSync (I did it twice in the hopes of getting a version which had working keys). I do know that neither time did it appear that Widsets properly identified my phone.
Would it help if I delete the midlet from my device and then re-download it so that you would have a definite date? Let me know and I will do it ASAP.
Re:Problem with Pantech PN-820
Hi,
Sorry to be a bother, but yes - it would help immensely.
You don't have to actually download the jad or jar, just use http://get.widsets.com with your pantech and click 'Login' near the bottom.
Once you input your username and password there and actually login, it will trigger our system's software to try to discover what phone you have.
it should report something like:
Download WidSets
We didn't recognize your device. It is still likely that WidSets Client will work on your device.
if it didn't recognize it at all, or
Download WidSets for Nokia E90
Download WidSets in my mobile.
If it identifies it as a specific phone model.
Once that's done, I can fix our database. I only need you to actually use the login so I have something to track :)
Cheers,
Daniel.
Re:Problem with Pantech PN-820
Hi Daniel. Okay, I followed your instructions and logged on at approximately 1:50 p.m. Eastern U.S. timezone on Friday, 5/25/07. The site returned the following message:
"Download WidSets for Neonode N1"
Hope that helps. I'm really looking forward to getting WidSets working on this device.

Re:Problem with Pantech PN-820
Hi,
I successfully found your useragent, so now I can give the code to our guys here so that they can use your very helpful key mappings to get it working!
Thanks very much,
Cheers,
Daniel.
Re:Problem with Pantech PN-820
Hi.
I just put the keymappings in place, star (*) button can be used for left softkey. You have to reinstall the client to get it working. Let us know if there's something wrong still.
Cheers,
Antti
