Widsets on my n95 is too slow

2007/12/17 23:43 UTCAfter upgrading to the new firmware my n 95 and updating widsets to the new version, widsets is very slow
. Tried socket and http ,no change.
Any suggestions ?

do you have WidSets installed to phone's memory? I would recommend that.
I didn't noticed any difference between previous N95 firmware versions or WidSets versions with speed...

now it's slow in updating widgets and opening them not loading widsets

has there been any change lately? Have you tried to relaod WidSets, has that helped? And to install it into the phone's memory.

same thing with me. I had it on memory card and now I removed it and re-installed to phone memory. Still awfully slow. When the widgets are fully loaded, then the speed is ok i.e. using and opening individual widgets. But starting Widsets is really slow. What is weird is that I do not have the same problem with my N80 which launches Widsets in an instant. Both are 3G and same operator so must be something in the N95.

2008/02/11 10:09 UTCHi! Widsets worked ok on my E50, but on my N95 8GB it's really slow (both on phone memory and external).
-Startup take ages
-Had to delete my previous widset collection, because they didn't load (red exclamation mark). Updating one by one would take whole day.
-The whole application is like jammed all the time.
Usability is at zero right now :(

we are investigating the slowness issue here, why some people face unexplicable slowness with N95. For some people re-installations or reloading some widgets may help. Possibly you have tried both of those?
We are doing co-operation within the company to find ways to speed up the application.

Do you have the latest firmware, 20 odd.Everything works faster even the camera. Reinstalled widsets after the update from 12 and it is better than ever.
Widsets only lags on the phone when I am far from the Access point or my phone falls back to edge from a 3g connection.

2008/02/28 11:02 UTCFYI, I have a N95 8GB with the latest firmware (15.0.015) and Widsets is just unusable (way too slow to load the widgets).
Maybe stopping developping in Java and making Widsets a real Nokia application would solve this ? I'm using Gmail also on my N95 - also a Java application - and this is running very slow compared to Gmail on my previous HTC S710. Thinking that Java runs better on a Windows device makes me already feel sick...
