Widset WLAN problem
Widset WLAN problem
It used to work fine I have WLAN both at home and at work.
But today I try to access my Widset ..It goes through the process of:
1:Connecting asking me (I have always ask as option) via what access..I select my WLAN.
2: It says Authenticating /online.
I look at the web site in my profiles and it sees my phone is connected.
But the wigets are trying, but failing to load on my phone.
I try several times I even re-boot battery out the phone..
No go..
I tried to reload just one widget and get the message "go online to reload"..But I am on line according to phone and web site?
So I then decide to use local ISP Sonera (they are also my GSM service provider) and not WLAN..
Immediate connection from my phone and I am quickly on line and all widget work.
I try again using WLAN does not work..Widgets dont load onto the phone
As I am using my WLAN to access this forum, there is obviously nothing wrong with it..
Could it be that Sonera are doing something to stop me using my phone to access widgets via a WLAN?
They dont get any revenue for data transfer if I use WLAN only phone call revenue which is cheaper.
Re: Widset WLAN problem
There seems to be a lot of frantic acitity this week end..involving Nokia's fledgling projects..
MOSH and Widsets..and service providers..
This story concerns MOSH.
http://www.newser.com/story/10825.html
The local Finnish media also reports some conflict (hot negotiations) betwen Nokia and local mobile phone service companies and ISPs who are not happy that Nokia, with their new MOSH and Widsets, are moving from manufacturer into their market by providing services FOC that they would charge for.
Nokia CEO said.."the communications problem is now sorted". One report says..
The mobile phone service suppliers rely on their phone sales and were a bit worried that their supplies might be effected in the run up to Christmas.
Good on you Nokia...(how does one add a thumbs up smilie!?)
WLAN access to Widests has been restored by Sonera...
