upgrade an existing widset
hi there,
I need some help 'cause I'm trying to update a widset (after making a private copy of it) but when I've completed all the mods then I click on the "ok" button but it doesn't takes effect...
also wiht IE7 (by now i usually use Firefox 2)
thanks
Re: upgrade an existing widset
Hi cidm0,
is the widget very old one that you try to edit? It's known that widgets that were created before October 2007, are not editable anymore as the studio changed so much in the service upgrade at that time. We still need to make this also visible to users as well, if the widget is not editable anymore.
If the widget has radically changed e.g. the feed info is not the same anymore, I would then suggest to create a new and remove the old one from the library.

Re: upgrade an existing widset
hi Taina,
my widget was made on 2008/04/06 and about changes it's only the customized image.
I've tried to edit it several times but the "ok" button still doesn't works it could be a bug in the service upgrade so please check it out
thanks
Re: upgrade an existing widset
Yes, you're right, this needs investigation. Could you please tell me the widget's name? And the error happened on the view where you are trying to publish the widget after editing it, right? If you can take a screenshot, that would be great.
I tried to reproduce this with IE6, but the editing and publishing worked well in my case.
Thanks!
Re: upgrade an existing widset
Thanks for the details.
We didin't find any reason, why you're not able to replace the widgets. In the screenshot everything looked ok. Also I checked the database side and the widget was just like any other one, like the ones that I have tested and succeeded in replacing.
We will follow up the situation; we try to reproduce it and follow if any other member will report the same failure. One tip that helped is some Firefox 2 related problem we experienced once was to clear the cookies: Firefox | Tools | Clear private data... Maybe you want to try that if it helps?
Otherwise the only solution or workaround so far is to publish a new widget for Modoxbox news and unpublish the old one, if it's not useful anymore.

Re: upgrade an existing widset
Hi Tana,
instead of using the "edit" button I've made a new wid and
then I've used the following option:
"Publish your creation to the library"
"New widget" (NO)
"Replace existing widget" (YES)
and it worked fine
