Hi everyone, I'm just checking this widget out now and liking it a lot. Here's a brief run-through of the features:

Sign in
You can sign in with your Jaiku screen name and password (if you don't have an account yet, you can create one for free at http://jaiku.com)

Main menu
The menu has the following selections:

* Overview (this is the latest from you and your contacts, identical to the Overview page on jaiku.com when you are signed in)
* Your Jaikus (Jaikus by you - identical to same on the Web)
* Explore (latest public Jaikus from everyone)
* Jaiku Team (news and updates from the team behind Jaiku)
* Jaiku Support and Ideas channel (latest posts to the support channel)
* Devku channel (Jaiku developer channel - new 3rd-party applications tend to be posted here first)
* TWiT channel (the backchannel for the popular This Week in Tech netcast by Leo Laporte and friends)

Posting Jaikus
* To post a new Jaiku to your stream, select Options -> Post a Jaiku

Setting your location
* To set your location, select Options -> Set Location

On my E61 and N95 the widget has worked smoothly. Great work, WiidSets team :)

Wishlist of features for the future:
* Commenting
* Posting to channels
* Browsing contacts

Just discovered a really nice additional feature: you can set the phone to beep when a new Jaiku is received from Settings: Alert sound

Hello,
I am having a problem with logging in.

Could it be because of special characters in my password?

Hi Cihi,

it very well might have been an issue with your password. I made a quick fix to login process so please try again and post here whether it worked or not.

Thanks!

Pekka

Hi Pekka,

Huh, this was fast response from your side!

Unfortunately is still does not work. I have characters ] and ' in my password.

Thanks for your support,
Darin

Hi again!

I made yet another modification to the authorization process. I also made a test user to Jaiku and gave it a password which had ', [ and ] characters. And now it seems to be working just fine.

Thanks for this valuable bug raporting!

Pekka

Jaiku Widset Dev idea

finlandian  2007/06/13 04:52 UTC

I'd like to add one small idea for Pekka to think about integrating into the new versions. ;)

When adding a new location, could the client load the data from the previous location by default into the fields? This way you should only change the Neighbourhood as most people usually change this part only when changing locations. A lot of duplicate work for entering the city and country everytime into your mobile.

Just an idea :)

Cheers,

Authentication Failed!

For me. SE W950i. Every other widget works fine. No special chars in my username or password.
